Wyatt Montgomery Kafitz was born on October 24, 2008, in Clackamas, Oregon, to Justin and Stephanie Kafitz.

Wyatt was completing his final year of high school and had already enlisted in the United States Navy. He originally planned to pursue culinary arts, but after earning an exceptional score on the ASVAB, he was encouraged to enter the Navy’s nuclear engineering field. His achievement reflected his remarkable intelligence and a future filled with promise.

Cooking was one of Wyatt’s greatest passions. He loved the creativity of preparing food and the satisfaction of making something others could enjoy. His imagination also found a home in video games, particularly Roblox and Minecraft. More recently, he had become especially passionate about Dungeons & Dragons—a world well suited to his creativity and sense of adventure.

Wyatt was fascinated by the Renaissance era and deeply appreciated its history, art, and distinctive aesthetic. Whether he was cooking, gaming, creating new worlds, or exploring the beauty of another time, he pursued his interests with genuine enthusiasm.

Wyatt is survived by his parents, Justin and Stephanie Kafitz; his sister, Hailey Newark; his grandparents, Wayne and Catherine Kafitz; his Granny Pauline; his great-grandmother, Janice; and his godparents, Scott and Kimberly Evenson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Wyatt will be remembered for his brilliant mind, creative spirit, and extraordinary potential. Though his life was far too brief, the love felt for him—and the mark he made on those who knew him—will endure.
