Tom Lambrecht, 85, passed into the kingdom of God on February 9, 2024. He was born January 5, 1939, to William and Alice Lambrecht. Tom, faithful husband, loving father and grandfather, is survived by his wife Robyn Lambrecht; his two sons, Mark (wife, Amy) and Brad (wife, Sunny); his grandsons, Aidan, Jack, and Patrick; and his granddaughter Erica.
He married his beloved wife Robyn when he was twenty-four, and they spent sixty-one wonderful years together.
He attended the University of Oklahoma, finishing with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for International Harvester as an engineer in Springfield, Ohio, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. After the birth of his son Mark, he and Robyn moved back to Oklahoma, this time settling in Norman, and purchased an International Harvester truck dealership. Eventually selling the dealership, he opened a used truck business (B&T Truck & Tractor). After retiring, he “relaxed” into the role of farmer, overseeing seven hundred acres growing crops, watching deer frolic, and hunting wild hogs, sometimes successfully.
Tom embodied the characteristics of a good man, encouraged to good works by his faith in the Lord. He was independent but caring, stern but gentle, with a story for every occasion. He had a heart for others, and an overflowing enthusiasm and desire to pour into and care for his family and friends. No one left a conversation with him without a smile, good advice, and just enough good-natured teasing.
He was a dedicated member of the Westside Church of Christ, and it was a rare Sunday that he could not be seen gracing the pews and steering the younger generation toward a better direction.
Tom was a man who truly spoke the truth in love, unafraid of conflict, ready to meet life head on. He deeply loved his family, and his rough but selfless attitude blessed countless people throughout his life. His departure leaves a deep wound in the hearts of all who knew him, but the memory of his life and the hope of his salvation is a comfort and joy to his family.
