Teresa Lee Oxsen of Norman, Oklahoma passed away in her sleep at her residence on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
Teresa was born on May 7, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas. She was the daughter of Charles and Dixie (O’Neal) Powell.
Teresa was a member of Fresh Start Church in Moore, Oklahoma, and was a volunteer in Celebrate Recovery, a program designed for helping people with addictions, hurts, and harmful habits. She was also involved in prison ministries and a program called Prodigal Son Ministries, ministering inside prisons.
Teresa married Jack Caughron, and to this union a daughter was born, Nicole Lee Caughron; they divorced in 1979. She then married George Oxsen on March 1, 1980, and throughout the next thirty-eight years through triumphs, tragedies, mistakes and the mercy of God, Teresa was able to finish her run into the arms of Jesus.
She is survived by: her husband, George Oxsen; daughter Nicole and husband Patrick; grandchildren: Ian, Nicolas, and Mina; mother Dixie Hebert; sister Cheryl and husband Dan; nephews and nieces Chad and wife Jennifer, Tracy and Husband Chris, and Haley and husband Victor; and great-nieces Maddie, Lily, Bella, and Mechellie.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 4:30 pm, at the Fresh Start Community Church (309 N. Eastern, Moore) with Pastor Dave Dooley officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Celebrate Recovery or Prodigal Son Ministries, c/o Fresh Start Community Church.
