Susan Jonette Brashear

March 27, 1950 — January 1, 2023

Susan Jonette Brashear was born in Brookville, Pennsylvania, March 27, 1950 to Clarence and Anna Dickey. She passed away January 1, 2023.

When Susan was a teenager, her family moved to central Oklahoma and she graduated from Noble High School. She was a travel agent in Norman for many years and then became the Office Manager for Unigraph in Tulsa, retiring after twenty plus years.

Susan met and married Carl Melvin Brady in 1967 and had one son, Kevin. With Kevin and Susan surviving, Carl was killed in a car accident a year later in 1968. Susan later married Eugene Pensoneau and had another son, Kelly. Together, Susan and Eugene raised both boys in Norman, OK.

She enjoyed OU football, watching movies with her grandchildren, going out to dinner, and getting pampered, like getting her nails done. You could also catch her watching Judge Judy or playing games on her I-phone. Susan was also in a bowling league for many years. When she was in her late fifties, she talked one of her sons, Kelly, into going sky diving with her.

Susan enjoyed going to look at Christmas lights and always cherished the time she went with her mother-in- law, Irene. The family took her to see the lights recently and she really enjoyed herself. The highlight of her day was greeting her grandchildren when they came home from school.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Carl Melvin Brady; second husband Eugene Carl Pensoneau; brother Larry Dickey; sister-in-law Roberta Pensoneau; and mother-in-law Irene Pensoneau Brown.

Susan is survived by her sons, Kelly Charles Pensoneau and wife Sara of Norman, OK; Kevin Don Brady Pensoneau of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Jake Pensoneau and wife Tate; Jackson Pensoneau; “The Littles”: Elsa, Clyde II, and Maggie May Pensoneau; sister and brother-in-law Karen and Doug Donmeyer of Sapulpa, OK; brother Richard Dickey of Morganton, NC; brother-in-law Ralph Pensoneau of Aztec, NM; and a host of nieces & nephews throughout the U.S. and friends.

Per Susan’s request there are no services scheduled.
