Funeral services for Mrs. Sharon North, longtime educator, will begin at 10:00am Monday, December 8, 2025 in The Chapel of Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 West Indian Hills Road, with close family friend, Mark Tommerdahl presiding.

The North Family will greet friends at a come-and-go visitation from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025 also at Tribute Memorial Care of Norman.

Sharon was born on Sunday, May 14, 1944, the daughter of John Lowell and Frances Helen (Andrews) Hamilton in Monroe, Oklahoma. She passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Rivermont Memory Care in Norman, Oklahoma

Sharon was raised in McAlester, Oklahoma where she attended public schools, graduating from McAlester High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Mr. Charles F. North on Saturday, September 12, 1964 in Stigler, Oklahoma. Sharon obtained an Associates Degree from Eastern A & M Jr. College in Wilburton, Oklahoma, her Bachelor of Science Degree from Panhandle A & M University in Goodwell, Oklahoma and finally her Masters in Education from NE State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

It's no secret Sharon loved football, so she was happy to move extensively when Charley was presented with incredible coaching opportunities. This journey allowed Charley and Sharon to make the best of lifelong friends and countless memories with coaches, players and university communities.

Sharon loved many things and was very passionate as an elementary public school teacher. She was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor. She earned the esteemed award as Teacher of the Year while serving in the McAlester Public School System and the Moore Public School System. She retired from teaching in 1995 after 30 years of service. During Sharon's long educational career she never missed a day to be in the classroom, enjoying a perfect attendance record. She was a longtime member of the Oklahoma Teachers Association.

In retirement, Sharon maintained her love for football while traveling the country watching her grandson, Zac. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, playing golf and working in her yard and flower garden.

Sharon is survived by her husband of more than 61 years, Charley, of Norman; one daughter, Charla Uhles and her husband, Rob of Norman; one grandson, Zac Uhles and his wife, Madison of Norman; one great grandson, Boone Uhles of Norman; and her sister, Donna Prock and her husband, Kenneth of McAlester, Oklahoma; she is also survived by a brother-in-law, Bill North and his wife, Beverly of Metairie, LA; and one aunt, Sandra Palmer and her husband, Dan of Greenwood, Arkansas; two cousins, Chris Bean of Tulsa and Marilyn Brassfield of Hartford, Arkansas; and numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the IOOF Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.

Arrangements for Sharon and her family were placed in the care of Tribute Memorial Care of Norman, Oklahoma.
