Sharon Kaye Hale
April 16, 1945 – July 19, 2026
Sharon Kaye Hale, 81, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her favorite chair on July 19, 2026.
Born on April 16, 1945, Sharon spent her childhood in Oklahoma. She lived most of her adult life making memories in Arizona and California, followed by a deeply cherished time enjoying the snow in Oregon. Sharon eventually returned to Oklahoma to help her sister care for their elderly mother, gifting her local family with years of treasured laughter, love, and shared moments.
Sharon wore motherhood well, loving her two daughters, Sandra Lynn and Ramona Kaye, with all her heart. A true hippie soul and the best kind of free spirit, she later checked off a major bucket list adventure by traveling to Alaska with her daughter Lynn.
Throughout her life, Sharon was a dedicated worker who loved connecting with her community. She spent many years working with her hands on an assembly line and serving as a secretary. In her later years, she found immense joy working as a caregiver for the elderly, an animal sitter, and a dog walker.
Sharon was defined by her fierce, passionate love for animals and was an intense advocate for their exceptional care. Her life was enriched by many cherished rescue pets. She also possessed a vibrant green thumb, a deep love for reading, and an unwavering commitment to honesty. Sharon was a wonderfully blunt person who always called it how she saw it; while she spoke the raw truth, you could always count on her to fair and to entirely have your back. She was loved, wanted, and treasured exactly for who she was.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Oran and Mary Phelps; her sister, LeaAnn; and her beloved daughter, Ramona "Mo" Kaye.
She is survived and dearly missed by her beloved daughter, Sandra Lynn; her sister, Edith; her niece, Becky; her nephews, Michael, Phillip, and Chance; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Sharon Kaye Hale lived a vibrant, meaningful life defined by her free spirit, deep devotion to her family, and fierce love for animals.
