Sarena Chapman, 43, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed peacefully into eternity on September 17, 2025. Leaving behind family, friends, and a legacy of love and joy that will echo for years to come.
Sarena was born in June 7th, 1982 in Indio, California to Gary W. and June Chapman. She grew up a true middle child with big sister, Christina and baby brother Gary (Bud). She had a knack for finding humor in any situation and often instigated mischief and silly shenanigans. She loved a good prank or joke and her beautiful blue eyes sparkled with orneriness whenever she could pull you into her plans for spontaneous antics.
She may have been playful, but she had a big tender heart and when it came to her family, she loved deeply and was very protective. Her children, Julien, Franky, and Poppy were the center of her life and she would protect them fiercely.
Sarena loved food, movies, music, and art. Being an amazing artist herself, she saw beauty in people and things that others may not notice. She often even saw "ugly things" as beautiful - like all those crazy prints on her clothes she loved to wear. She has passed her many talents down to each of her precious kids, each one carrying a piece of her artistry in them.
She also had a wild spirit of adventure and loved to travel. The ocean and beaches were truly her happy place. She loved the wind in her hair, warm sun on her skin, and ocean waves crashing around her. Anywhere with water seemed to fill her heart.
While our hearts are incredibly heavy, we hope to carry her love and a bit of her silliness with us until we see her again. In the meantime, anytime we find ourselves near the ocean we will lift our faces toward the sun, stretch out our arms, and feel the warmth and joy that she loved so much.
Sarena is survived by her three children: Julien Reece, Franky Chapman, and Poppy Chapman; her mother June Chapman; her sister, Christina and brother-in-love Aaron Myers; her brother, Gary (Bud) Chapman; her beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many more who loved her deeply and will miss her humor, kindness, and beauty.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gary W. Chapman; Grandparents: Alfred and Audrey Hudson, Grace Foran, Doug and Bessie Hopkins; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sarena absolutely hated funerals, death, and all the sadness that surrounds times like these. A celebration of her life, art, and love will be held at a future date.
In her honor and memory, the family would love for you to share any photos, fun memories, and silly stories with them. Oh, and as for the rumors about that "mission" in Maui.... we can neither confirm nor deny.
Service will be held at a future date
