Robert F.
LeBlanc
February 13, 1931 – June 1, 2026
Robert Francis "Bob" LeBlanc was born on February 13, 1931, in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, to Arthur J. LeBlanc and Noemie Freret LeBlanc. He passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, following a brief illness.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Kathryn Marie "Kay" Jansing LeBlanc of Norman, Oklahoma, who passed away in 2017. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and enduring love.
He is survived by his children: Robert LeBlanc Jr. and wife Tammy of Norman, Oklahoma; David LeBlanc and husband Brian Holloway of Cathedral City, California; Lisa Ann LeBlanc of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and James B. "JJ" LeBlanc and wife Kimberly of Richardson, Texas.
Bob was a proud grandfather to Robby LeBlanc, Julianna Hopper, Caroline Johnson, Kelly Wilson, and William LeBlanc. He was also blessed with eight cherished great-grandchildren: Briar, Ford, Field, Heidi, Henry, Grant, Sloane Grace, and James Weller.
Growing up on the family farm in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, Bob enjoyed a childhood rich with adventure and simple pleasures. He spent his days riding horses, exploring the bayous, and embracing the warmth and traditions of Louisiana's Cajun community. Those early experiences shaped the kindness, humility, and appreciation for life that would define him throughout his years.
Bob graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, before earning a degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. While at OU, he met the love of his life, Kay, at St. Joseph’s Church. They married in 1953 while he was serving as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and began a remarkable journey together that would span more than six decades.
Following his military service, Bob worked as a petroleum engineer for Atlantic Refining Company in Texas and Louisiana. Realizing his true calling lay elsewhere, he pursued a law degree at Louisiana State University. He went on to build a distinguished legal career, serving in the legal departments of Arkansas Fuel Oil Corporation in Shreveport, Louisiana; Cities Service Oil Company in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and later Cities Service Company and OXYUSA in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He concluded his professional career in 1989 as Associate General Counsel of OXYUSA, Inc. His love of a spirited debate served him well throughout his career.
More than his professional accomplishments, Bob will be remembered for the way he lived. He was the embodiment of a Southern gentleman—gracious, humble, and quietly generous. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or befriend someone in need. His integrity, kindness, and gentle spirit touched countless lives.
Of all the roles he held, none brought him greater joy than being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His happiest moments were spent with Kay and the family they lovingly built together.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, generosity, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday June 6 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, honor Bob’s spirit by being kind to all.
