Phil Hale, lovingly known as Dad and Papa Hat, age 72, of Norman, Oklahoma, went to be with God on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
He was born on January 5, 1953, in Hinton, Oklahoma, the oldest son of Fred and Norma Hale. Phil spent most of his life in and around Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Weatherford High School in 1971. He married Teresa Roedell of Mooreland, Oklahoma, on August 24, 1974.
Phil worked alongside his father and brother on the family farm for several years before founding 5-H Fertilizer in 1982. Together, he and Teresa raised three children: Amber, Scotty, and Missy.
Phil lived life to the fullest. He loved music, friends, family, the country life, and good food—especially a great steak. His kids and grandkids were his whole world, and he cherished every moment with them. Phil also had a special bond with his dogs, especially Fred, whom he named after his father. Fred went everywhere with him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Hale.
Phil is survived by his mother, Norma Hale of Weatherford, Oklahoma; his children and grandchildren; daughter, Amber Hallum and husband Brian Hallum, and their children Elias, Sophia, and Theodore of Grove, Oklahoma, son, Scotty Hale and wife Katherine Hale of Norman, Oklahoma and daughter, Missy Gubitz and her children Gaige and Journey of Norman, Oklahoma.
