Obituary

Patsy S. Jordan, 87, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on April 7, 2026. She was born on October 8, 1938, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, to the late Pearlie L. Smith and Lora Etta Smith.

Patsy married the love of her life, Jewell "Joe" Jordan, on December 22, 1957, in Beauregard, Mississippi, and together they raised four children. In 1980, the family moved to Altus, Oklahoma, where Patsy worked as a middle school teacher. After retiring, she and Joe embarked on an adventure to Honduras, where she taught at a bilingual school until they returned to Oklahoma in 1998 to be closer to family. When grandkids started arriving,  they bought a cabin in Mississippi that became the backdrop for countless memories with family and close friends.

Patsy would tell you exactly what she was thinking, no filter. She was sassy, funny, fiercely competitive, and never gave up on anything. She loved playing tennis and golf, and she famously did a cartwheel on her birthday every year until she turned 70. She was a devoted Thunder basketball fan and enjoyed the few games she was able to attend. After Joe passed away and she moved to Norman, she adopted a little rescue dog named Dinky, who became her faithful buddy. The two settled into her Silver Elms apartment, where she spent her last six years playing bingo, doing puzzles with her BFF Shari, enjoying the occasional casino outing, and making wonderful friends. She was blessed with so many people who loved and cared for her till the end.

Patsy's faith carried her through life's joys and sorrows, and she now rests in the loving arms of her Lord.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Jordan; sons, Tim Jordan and Jay Jordan; her parents; sisters, Etta Pearl Ray and Joyce Evans; and brother, Bobby Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Jill Fayak (Brian Fayak), and Jodi Sorrels (Jay Sorrels), Daughters in law, Connie Jordan and Angie Marple (Kevin Marple). Grandchildren, Jordan Fayak, Graci Fayak, Michael Fayak, Stacey Engel, Alyssa Viracola, Chelsea Yarbrough, Chad Jordan, Abbey Marple, Brady Marple, Tanner Marple, and Tyler Marple. Great grandchildren, Rayden Engel, Cooper Varicola, Cameron, Magnolia, and Clover Yarbrough, and Evie Quinby, along with many extended family, and dear friends.

May she rest in the peace and grace of the Lord she faithfully served.

Services will be held Saturday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 W. Indian Hills Road, Norman, Oklahoma. Patsy will be laid to rest at Altus City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma, alongside her husband, Joe, Jordan, and son, Jay Jordan.
