Mary Lou White, also known as "Lulu", “Mamma-Lou", "Mommo", and "Grammy", of Norman, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 16, 2017. She was born on March 8, 1939 in Sterling, Illinois to Kieffer and Emeline Wenger.
She was a graduate of Grinnell College with a degree in Education. Mary Lou was a kind and generous woman whose life revolved around her family and friends. Supporting her church and community was also of great importance to her. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church of Norman, and was involved in the Junior League of Norman, PEO, and the Assistance League. Mary Lou was a social butterfly, and could always be counted on for a luncheon, a game of bridge, or bunko with her “group.” She loved to travel and was an avid Oklahoma City Thunder and OU fan.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by: parents Kieffer and Emeline Wenger; Sisters Nancy Wenger and Eloise Hart; and husband, Ken White. She is survived by: son David Risser and wife Holly of Plano, TX, and their daughters Kendall, Kamryn, and Kori; son Mark Risser and wife Yola of Dallas, TX, and their son Nick; son Stephen Risser and wife Kelly of Keller, TX and their children Tanner, Laney, Riley, Amy, and Emaline; sister Jane Wenger of Norman, OK; nephew Nathan Winckler of Madison, WI; niece Emily Freely and husband Mike of Crawford, NJ and their sons Austin and Ben; and niece Amanda Morgan and husband Mike of Chattanooga, TN.
