Marla Ann Lambert Harrell, born September 9th, 1955, in Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and children, on October 14th, 2025, following a courageous year-long battle with brain cancer.
Marla dedicated her life to service and caring for others, a commitment she began upon graduating from St. Anthony Nursing School in 1978. Her drive to provide the highest quality and compassionate care inspired her to further her education, completing her Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. Faith was the unwavering foundation of her life; she faced every challenge with courage and trusted fully in God’s plan. Her life was marked by active service, not only through her nursing career but also her devotion to charitable causes and her deep involvement in her church and community. Marla carried a radiant optimism, inherited from her father, that brightened every room she entered and was a source of light for those around her.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Marla was a shining example of strength, love, and integrity. She poured her entire heart into her children and grandchildren, encouraging them to live with faith and always holding them to the highest standards of doing what is right, even when it was difficult. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of unwavering hope and unconditional love—a beacon for her family and community to follow.
Marla is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Harrell; her children, son Jason Kirby of Norman, son Jesse Smith and wife Erica of Sapulpa; daughter Morgan Grubb and husband Chance of Norman, and four cherished grandsons, Jack Lucas, Graham Smith, and Cooper and Baker Grubb; and brother, Mike Lambert and wife Lorna of Norman.
