Loretta (Dennis) Kuhlo of Norman went home to Jesus on January 12, 2017. She was born on October 17, 1947 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Henry Council Dennis and Eulema (Semore) Dennis.
Loretta graduated from Norman High School in 1965, and later that year she graduated from Beauty College. She was co-owner and operator at KLAS Creation for 30 years before moving to Shaper’s Hair Studio. She retired on August 1, 2016 after 51 years in the industry. Loretta was a perfectionist and loved to make her clients happy! She will be remembered by her clients, friends and family as being witty and sweet.
On March 6, 1966 Loretta met the love of her life, Tim Kuhlo, and they were married exactly five years later, on March 6, 1971. Through God’s amazing grace and unconditional love they were married for 41 years before he passed on March 3, 2012. Loretta and Tim raised one daughter, Brandi, and enjoyed two grandchildren, Grant and Olivia. When Loretta became “MeMe”, she was a woman on a mission to make memories with her two grandchildren who she absolutely loved and adored.
Loretta loved the Lord and had so much faith and trust in Him that she was inspirational to others. She was selfless and kind, always putting others first. Loretta was a prayer warrior. Her daughter Brandi believed there was a “red phone” in Heaven just for her mother, and when her mother prayed, God immediately picked it up and answered her prayers. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God for many years, serving as a Nursery teacher, Intercessory prayer leader, Benevolence committee member, Bible study teacher, Sunday School Treasurer, Decorating committee member, and an Elder.
Survivors include her daughter Brandi McAlister and husband Jason of Noble, OK; brother Hank Dennis and wife Becky of Hugo, OK; sister Allene Williams of Norman, OK; and two grandchildren Grant and Olivia McAlister of Noble, OK. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Tim Kuhlo in March 2012.
