Leah Elizabeth Diehm, “Honey,” of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born in Ruston, LA, to Lesa and Croley Loyd.

Honey’s love for decorating began in high school when she worked at JCPenney in the housewares department. That first job inspired a lifelong passion for helping her clients create their dream homes.

Honey and Bob met while working on a decorating job. He was in the floor-covering business, and Honey was the interior designer—a perfect pairing. They enjoyed working together on projects that took them across the country. Honey finally closed their flooring business at the age of 92. Doing the books kept her mind sharp!

She always made her home gorgeous and inviting and her gardens were the most beautiful in the neighborhood. Her greatest love was her family, including her beloved weenie dogs. Honey loved spending quiet time with Jesus in her garden.

Honey lived in Norman for 35 years before moving to the Elison Independent Living of Statesman Club, which she lovingly referred to as “Shady Pines.” The move truly invigorated her as she found a new community of friends. She was honored to be Ms. Statesman in 2023 and proudly wore the crown. Honey also served as a greeter at Crossings Community Church and loved her fellow volunteers.

She just quit driving in June. Honey will be remembered for her incredible hat collection, impeccable sense of style, and ability to always light up a room.

Honey was a beautiful, spirited woman who brought joy, style, laughter, and love wherever she went. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Diehm, and her siblings, Johnnie Fay Colvin, Ted Loyd, Jack Loyd, and Buddy Loyd.

Honey leaves behind her daughter, Candy Reece and husband Bob; son, Ted Moore and wife Vicki; granddaughter, Jennifer Beckett and husband Lewis; great-granddaughter, Kerri Brackin; niece, Laura Martzell; nephew, Dickie Colvin and wife Dawn; niece, Marilyn Dill; great-niece, Pamela Smith; niece, Leah Loyd; step-grandchildren, Kristen Starcevich and husband Johnny, Brittany Ferguson, and Jennifer Pickering and husband Kris; precious great-grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews; stepson Randy Diehm and wife Donna, stepdaughter Cindy Ferguson, step grandchildren David Reece and wife Leigh, Kim Kemball-Cook and husband Barry, and Elizabeth Reece; Willis family Janis Wingo, Malinda Franco, Katie Miller, Clay Wingo; dear friend, Anita Couser and all her precious friends at the Elison.
