Lea Anne Dunaway, born March 10, 1958, in Würzburg, Germany, passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 67.

As a military child, Lea Anne grew up with resilience and grace. She was an avid reader, a gifted cook, and a woman of deep faith who lived her life devoted to the Lord. For more than 20 years, she poured her heart into her work as a cook for the Greek system at the University of Oklahoma, where she especially cherished her time with Kappa Kappa Gamma. Her love for cooking was only matched by her love for others.

Lea Anne adored her family. Her children were her pride and joy, and her loyal dog, Sadie, was always by her side. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the way she cared for all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Charles “Matthew” Dunaway and his wife Destiny of Norman, OK; their children, Noah Dunaway, Bud Johnson, and Brett Johnson; her daughter, Tyler Dunaway of Norman, OK; and her daughter’s dear friend, Jennifer Lashomb of Noble, OK, who was like a daughter to her. She also leaves behind her sister, Dana Johnson of Shawnee, OK; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her deeply.

Lea Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Clara Johnson; her brother, Larry Graves; and her sisters, Barbara Walls, Dixie Hester, and Mattie Bowling.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will never be forgotten.
