Keith Lawrence Masters
1962-2021
Keith Lawrence Masters, 58, of Norman, OK, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 unexpectedly. He was born on September 19, 1962 in Norman, OK to Orville (Buster) Masters and Naola Sanderson Masters. He lived in Norman with the love of his life, Rebecca Ruth (Hinds) Masters and their beloved pets.
Keith grew up in Norman and attended Norman High School graduating in 1980. He took numerous vo-tech courses and during his senior year in high school, he helped build a house in Moore, OK as part of the vo-tech program. He also graduated from Oklahoma School of Photography. He worked for the City of Norman in various capacities for 30 years and loved his time at the Water Treatment Plant. He was a certified water treatment operator both in Oklahoma and Colorado. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of living in Colorado when he and Becky moved there in 2007 but returned to Norman in 2017 to be close to family.
He loved trains and spent many hours and traveled many miles with his close friend Greg Hall taking pictures of the Santa Fe Rails. He loved working with his dad at the farm, plowing and restoring old tractors. He enjoyed reuniting with his lifelong friends. Keith was a great friend to all and will be remembered for his kind heart, his witty personality, his love for life, and his nickname Jet. Above all, he loved his family and would do everything he could to help them.
He is preceded in death by grandparents; Wallace Jackson Masters, Janie Walker Masters, Henry Lawrence Sanderson and Bertha Sanderson. He was named after grandfather, Henry Lawrence Sanderson who was Norman’s first Chief of Police.
He is survived by his wife, Becky of the home, parents; Orville (Buster) Masters & wife Naola of Norman, OK., brother; Rick Masters & wife Dana of Moore, OK., sister-in-law; Nancy Campbell & Michael Miller of Norman, OK., nephews; Brian Masters of Yukon, OK., Sean Simpson & wife Ruthy of Norman, OK., Josh Simpson & wife Sara of Norman, OK., Aaron Agrawal & wife Stephanie of Studio City, CA., great nieces and nephews: Brooklyn Simpson, Blake Simpson, Finley Simpson, Bradley Masters, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Annie’s Ruff House in Norman, OK in Keith’s name.
