Katherine Ann Brockhaus Maloy, 72, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on May 12, 2025.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 N. Porter Ave., Norman, OK 73071. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 W. Indian Hills Rd., Norman, OK 73072. A formal sharing of memories will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Katherine was born on October 17, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to Thomas John and Rosemary (Gorges) Brockhaus. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Norman, where she spent most of her life. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School through seventh grade and graduated from University High School of Norman. Katherine continued her education at the University of Oklahoma where she was initiated into Kappa Delta Sorority.
Following college, she spent several years living in New Orleans before settling in Coweta, Oklahoma, where she lived for 18 years. In 1994, she returned to Norman and remained an active member of the community ever since.
Upon returning, Katherine joined the family business as a part owner of Brockhaus Jewelry, where she faithfully served generations of customers. Her integrity, warmth, and expertise earned the trust of many throughout the years.
A devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and later St. Mark Catholic Church, Katherine’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was active in parish life and deeply committed to her spiritual community.
In retirement, Katherine embraced her love for travel, visiting destinations across the globe including China, Russia, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, French Polynesia, and Italy, with one of her most cherished experiences being a visit to the Vatican Museum. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rosemary Brockhaus.
She is survived by her husband, Theo Edwin Maloy; her children: Brad Shipman and his wife Shelly, Mary Shipman-Hines and her husband Isaac, David Shipman and his husband Michael Robertson, Jana Plank and her husband Steve, and Jason Snyder and his wife Joanna; grandchildren: Braden, Aubrey, Brody, Joseph, Bray, Sydney, Isabel, and Coda; and siblings: Edna Carson and her husband Mike, Paul Brockhaus, John Brockhaus and his wife Sarah, and Marc Brockhaus and his wife Barbara.
Katherine’s grace, generosity, and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
