Julie G. Ehrhart

November 12, 1964 — September 27, 2023

Julie Gae Ehrhart was born November 12, 1964 to Gary W. Gilstrap and Patsy A. (Tyler) Gilstrap. She was welcomed into heaven on September 27, 2023.

Julie was born in Miami, OK and raised in Commerce, OK. She loved being active and spent most of her childhood in dance. On August 1, 1984 she married Shane Ehrhart of Miami, OK. After graduating college with her bachelor’s in business administration, Julie worked at First State Bank of Commerce. In 1992, they welcomed twin boys, Drew and Chad, and their family was complete.

After Shane’s death, she moved to Norman, OK in 2000 to be closer to family. She began working at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she worked in financial services for 23 years before retiring in May of 2023. Julie would call herself the office party planner - she enjoyed coordinating baby and wedding gifts, planning office lunches for people’s birthdays, and coming up with ideas and games for the annual Christmas party. She loved to make people feel special and important.

Julie was the definition of “Sooner born and Sooner bred.” She was a season ticket-holder for not only the University of Oklahoma football games, but also women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics, and attended as many other sporting events as she could. If an OU team was playing, you can guarantee Julie was watching.

Above all, Julie enjoyed spending time with her family. Every weekend of football season was spent together with loved ones, cheering on the Sooners, watching NFL games, and always cheering against Tom Brady. During the off-season, most weekends were filled with family game nights where she would often lose at dominoes because she had “lots of dots.” There was never a shortage of Sonic ice, as Julie could always be depended on to bring a bag to any social gathering. She loved her two boys dearly and loved being “Jamma” to her grandson, Cade.

Julie was preceded in death by her husband, Shane Alan Ehrhart and stepmother, Judy Gilstrap. She is survived by her sons, Drew Ehrhart of Norman, OK and Chad Ehrhart and wife Alex of Norman, OK; grandson, Cade Alexander Ehrhart; father, Gary Gilstrap of Monkey Island, OK; mother, Patsy Gilstrap of Norman, OK; sister, Sherry Glover and husband Dennis of Norman, OK; brother, Geoff Gilstrap of Norman, OK; nephew, Cody Glover and wife Katrina of Liberty, MO; niece, Jacy Rae Secrest and husband Kyle of Norman, OK; great-nephew, Cruz Glover; great-nieces, Presley Glover and Sienna Secrest; and many other family and friends.

In honor of Julie’s vibrant spirit, please wear bright colors or OU attire.
