Idela Florence Followwill, 89, of Norman, OK, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026.

Idela was born on July 25, 1936, and grew up in Norman, OK. where she built a life centered on faith, family, and friends. After graduating early from Norman High School, she attended business school. Idela married her first husband, Tommy Edward Allen, and had four children while moving around the US. In 1969, she moved back to Norman and spent her life enjoying her family and her church. She loved traveling to Colorado and Branson to enjoy God’s beauty.

Idela was a very devout Christian who loved her Savior. She attended Crosspointe Church in Norman, OK.

Idela was preceded in death by her father, George Lawton Hurst; her mother, Georgia Florence Hurst; four brothers, two sisters, first husband Tommy Edward Allen, second husband Joseph Arthur Followwill, two stepsons, and one grandson.

Idela is survived by two sisters, two daughters; Barbara Jean Joyce of Norman, OK, and Marla Fay Jolly of Tecumseh, OK; two sons, Tommy Dean Allen of Purcell, OK, and Tony Martin Allen of Norman, OK, one stepdaughter, Mary Lou Followwill of Tulsa, OK., two stepsons Robert Merideth Followwill and John Brian Followwill of Oklahoma City, OK., twelve grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
