Heather Elizabeth Gillaspy was born on August 22, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert Carle Oakes and Helen Elizabeth Simon Oakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Galen Craig Gillaspy; and her brother, Robert Carle Oakes Jr.

Heather is survived by her daughter, Paige Gillaspy; her brother, J. Thomas (Traci) Oakes; and two nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

She graduated from Wooddale High School in 1976 and later attended Rose State College. Heather most recently worked at Norman Radiology in the medical billing department.

Above all else, Heather’s greatest dream and proudest role was becoming a mother. She poured her heart into raising her daughter and created a home filled with warmth, care, and unwavering support. Heather was a loyal and compassionate friend, someone others could always count on for comfort, encouragement, and a listening ear.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: listening to music, watching her favorite television shows and movies, baking for loved ones, spending time with her dog, and cherishing moments with family and friends.

Heather will be remembered for her generous heart and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and in the enduring love she leaves behind.
