Gary Dean Ivey, of Duncan, Oklahoma, passed away on September 19, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on July 21, 1951, in Oklahoma, to George and Vaszene Ivey.
After graduating high school, Gary proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California, where he developed a deep sense of discipline and loyalty that he carried throughout his life.
Gary’s career led him into restaurant and nightclub management, where his natural leadership and charisma shined. It was during this time, while working as a general manager of a large chain nightclub, that he met the love of his life, Ann Anise. He was a loving husband and father.
A man of many talents, Gary was an extraordinary artist, especially gifted in calligraphy. His work reflected his patience, precision, and creativity. Beyond his artistic ability, Gary will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of bringing joy and laughter into every room, leaving lasting memories with family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife Ann Anise Ivey. His children, Kenneth George Ivey and Alexis Nicole Ivey. His siblings; James Ivey of Arlington, TX; Judy Long of Duncan, OK; and Becky Theis of Faxon, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vaszene Ivey of Duncan, OK; and his siblings, Dewey Ivey of Duncan, OK; Christine Harrell of Duncan, OK; Rita Davis of Norman, OK; and Paul Ivey of Norman, OK.
Gary’s life was a unique blend of service, artistry, humor, and personal struggle. He will be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
