Floyd Kenneth
Hodam
February 14, 1932 – February 17, 2026
In Loving Memory
Floyd Kenneth Hodam went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 W Indian Hills Rd. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Tribute Memorial Care.
Floyd was born on February 14, 1932, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Edgar E. and Ruby Hodam. He was the youngest of three siblings. After graduating from high school, Floyd enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in June of 1949. Later that year, in October, he was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served in Japan from December 1951 until February 1953.
Following his honorable discharge, Floyd began working for Western Electric from 1953 to 1958. He then began his civil service career at Tinker Air Force Base, where he worked from 1958 until 1970. His work was later transferred to Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where he served from 1970 to 1980 before returning to Tinker Air Force Base. Floyd continued his dedicated service there until his retirement in 1990.
Floyd married the love of his life, Ann, on December 20, 1974. In 1992, they moved from Del City and made their home in Norman, Oklahoma, where they built a life full of love and memories together. They shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a blended family of four children: Michael (Judy), Donnie (Alisa), Debbie (Kelly), and Keith. Their family grew to include six grandchildren—Jennifer, Caleb, Demi, Kayla, Connor, and Keegan—and nine great-grandchildren.
Floyd loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He especially enjoyed spending time on his beloved land, riding four-wheelers, and bringing family along to enjoy nature and many fun adventures. Time there was often spent clearing trails, setting up deer stands, fishing, and hunting deer and turkey. Floyd also loved sports, especially football, and was always happy when the Oklahoma Sooners were playing. He was also a dedicated NASCAR fan and enjoyed cheering on Oklahoma drivers.
Known by many as a true “Mr. Fix-it,” Floyd loved figuring out how things worked and finding ways to repair them. His knack for mechanics started in his teenage years when he worked hard to keep cars and hot rods running during the lean World War II years. Even into his later years, Floyd stayed active working around the house, maintaining the yard, and taking care of projects at home.
More than anything, Floyd treasured time with his family. Summers were especially special, as he loved having his grandchildren over to swim in the pool and spend time together. Floyd also had a well-known love for food. One of his favorite questions was, “What’s for dinner?” Holiday meals were especially exciting for him, and he always wanted to try a little of everything.
Almost as much as he loved his family, Floyd adored his precious Schnauzers. Over the years there were several loyal companions—Pandy, Maggie, Suzie, Ginger, and most recently Mitzi, who is surely wondering where her Daddy has gone.
Floyd was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and wisdom to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Floyd. You are missed beyond measure.
