Erland was known for the incredible musician he was, from singing barbershop quartet with his sisters as teenagers to playing saxophone in his high school band as well as playing piano & keyboards in the Virginia Beach area for bands such as the Lamplighters. He loved singing duets with various artists or tickling the ivories in many other establishments in the Tidewater area. Erland also was a dance instructor in the 1970’s.
He is survived by his three sons, Richard Kiosterud Sr and life partner Amy Amuso of Cadillac, MI, John Kiosterud and wife Stephanie of Norman, OK, Robert Kiosterud and wife Traci of Norman, OK. Erland also had ten great-grandchildren Kaylyn, Izabella, Jazmyn, Ariella, Layla, Noah, Ezekiel, Emery, Josie and Alannah.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm presence, love of cats, friends and family and his empathetic disposition. His legacy lives on in the music he shared and the many lives he touched.
