Donald Raymond Dragg

June 25, 1946 — October 9, 2025

Norman

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”– 2 Timothy 4:7

Donald Raymond Dragg, 79, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

Born in Houston, Texas, on June 25, 1946, to Audrey and David C. Dragg, Don grew up in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Harding High School in 1964. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1968 and later returning to complete his master’s degree. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 13 years, achieving the rank of Major.

During his distinguished military career, Don served as an instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point and later taught in the ROTC program at the University of Oklahoma. He loved coaching, mentoring, and helping others reach their potential—whether on the field, in his community, or simply through a friendly conversation. Don’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.

While serving overseas in South Korea, Don met the love of his life, Kyong. At the end of his deployment, Don and Kyong returned together to Norman, Oklahoma and began building their life, sharing 50 years of marriage.

Don was a man whose heart was centered on family and faith. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren and made it his life’s mission to love them well. He is survived by his wife, Kyong Dragg; his children, Jennifer Diane Kubinsky and her husband David, Matthew Raymond Dragg and his wife Taylor, and Morgan Elisabeth Tucker and her husband Alex; and his beloved grandchildren, Eli, Liam, Dean, Meredith, and Lyla. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Dragg, and his wife Diane. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and David Dragg.

Don had a joyful and cheerful spirit that filled every room he entered. He was warm, steady, and kind—someone who listened deeply, encouraged often, and led with love. His faith in Jesus guided every part of his life, and he passed that faith on to his children and grandchildren through his words, his example, and his heart.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 5:00–7:00 PM at Tribute Memorial Care. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 16, at 9:00 AM at Tribute Memorial Care, followed by burial at 1:00 PM at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Those who knew Don will remember his smile, his laugh, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His love for the Lord and for those around him will continue to shine brightly through the lives he touched.

Arrangements for Don and his family have been placed in care of Tribute Memorial Care, 4300 West Indian Hills Road in Norman, OK.
