Obituary

Deanna “D” Renée Heath, 48, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by those who loved her most.

Deanna was born on March 9, 1977, in Norman, Oklahoma, where she spent most of her life building deep roots in the community she cherished.

As a devoted educator, Deanna touched the lives of countless students throughout her career. She faithfully served both the Norman Public School System and the Noble Public School System, leaving a lasting impact through her patience, encouragement, and genuine love for teaching. Her classroom was more than a place of learning; it was a place of kindness, structure, and an unwavering belief in every child’s potential.

Deanna was baptized at Central Church of Christ of Moore in 2002 and that is where she met her future husband, Michael.  Soon after they moved to Norman and have been faithful members of Westside Church of Christ, where she found strength, fellowship, and spiritual guidance throughout her life. Her love for the church was evident in her dedication to teaching Sunday School and serving in numerous other roles.

On December 5, 2003, Deanna married the love of her life, Michael Heath. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and steadfast support for one another. Above all else, Deanna was a loving wife and a devoted mother. Her greatest joy was found in her children, Mason and Kimber, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.

Outside of her roles as an educator and mother, Deanna had a deep appreciation for both nature and the arts. She enjoyed fishing and was an avid hiker, finding comfort, peace, and renewal in nature. Deanna also had a lifelong passion for music and was a proud member of the Pride of Oklahoma, where she played the French horn. Her love for fine arts, especially the works of Monet, reflected her thoughtful, creative spirit and her ability to find beauty in the world around her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.D. Marshall, Donna Darr, John D. Kirtley, and Frieda Kirtley.

Deanna is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Heath; her son, Mason Heath; her daughter, Kimber Heath; her mother, Nancy Marshall; her father and stepmother, Wes and Carrie Marshall; her sister, Amber Simon and husband Andy; her stepsister, Brooke Churchill and husband Jesse; her Grandmother, Ann Marshall; her step-grandparents, Jim and Linda Moore and her cherished nieces, Sienna Simon and Bailey Churchill.

Deanna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her servant’s heart, and the way she made everyone feel seen and valued. Her legacy lives on through her family, her students, and the many lives she touched with love and compassion.
