Charles "Chip" Taylor Whittier

November 29, 1941 — November 13, 2025

Norman

Charles “Chip” Taylor Whittier, age 83, died peacefully surrounded by his family on November 13th in Norman.

He was the patriarch of a family who loved him dearly. Born in Cedar Falls, Iowa in 1941 to parents Taylor and SaraJane Whittier.

With his father in education, he moved around from Iowa, Gaithersburg, Maryland; St. Petersburg, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and ultimately landed in Norman, Oklahoma where he married the love of his life Wendi in 1978.

He was a beloved husband and father with an infectiously optimistic outlook on life. He never failed to make others smile and made the world around him a better place.

He is survived by the treasures of his life, his wife Wendi and their three daughters: Megan Peacock and her husband Matt of Norman, Courtney Moore and her husband Tim of Norman, and Karey Brown and her husband Carson of Edmond, along with his seven grandchildren that he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by many extended relatives and countless friends who he considered family.

He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will be carried on by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, 555 S. University, Norman, OK.
