Charlene Laverne Morris, beloved wife, sister, and friend, departed from this world on April 23rd, 2024 in her home in Norman, Oklahoma. Born on October 9th, 1949, in Mena, Arkansas, to Marion Eugene and Lois Marie Cunningham, Charlene's life was one of warmth, compassion, and unwavering love.
On May 24th, 1986, she exchanged vows with the love of her life, David John Morris, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their first anniversary and honeymoon in Eureka Springs marked the beginning of a beautiful chapter in their lives. Charlene had a professional career in the communications field as an engineering clerk, demonstrating dedication and skill in her work.
Charlene was a woman of many passions. She found solace and joy in the outdoors, reveling in the beauty of nature and the melodies of birdsong. Her green thumb was evident in the meticulously tended flower beds that adorned her home, a testament to her love for gardening and creating beauty in the world. Her love for travel took her to various destinations, with the Grand Canyon and Los Angeles holding a special place in her heart. Her culinary skills were legendary among friends and family, and her home was always a welcoming haven filled with delicious aromas and laughter. Charlene had an innate sense of style and elegance, always impeccably dressed and radiating grace wherever she went. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to helping others whenever and wherever she could.
She is survived by her loving husband, David John Morris, her sister Linda Weinheimer and husband Bob of Maricopa, AZ and her younger sister Jane Owens of Mena, AR, her nieces Renee Richmond Gann of Mena, AR, Valerie Oglesby of Waxahachie, TX, and Faith Morris of Houston, TX, as well as a host of cherished relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Barry Cunningham and Carolyn Richmond.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Charlene's legacy of love, kindness and beauty will continue to shine brightly, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
