Betty Jo Booth, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Grace Living Center in Oklahoma City. She was born to Harvey L. and Ruby May (French) Collins in Macomb, OK on July 21, 1929. She grew up and attended school in Shawnee, OK. She later married Bill Booth on September 20, 1947.
Betty was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and quilting, and she held a deep passion for children. Betty was a woman of great faith. She was a long-time teacher of the “Sonshine Girls” ladies’ Sunday school class and even served as the Church Secretary for First Baptist Church in Moore and Emmaus Baptist Church. Of all the things Betty enjoyed, the joy of her life was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that joy was demonstrated by her love and care of her family.
Betty was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Bill Booth; her brothers AJ Collins and Warren Collins; and her son Danny Booth. She is survived by: sons Curtis Booth and wife Carol of Humble, TX and Mike Booth and wife Freddi of Moore, OK; grandchildren Danielle and Jerrold Self of Newcastle, OK, Angela and Chris Fallwell of Tuttle, OK, and Scott and Adrienne Booth of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren Ryan Self, Paige, Reese, and Luke Fallwell, and Jackson and Rex Booth.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Living Center-Brookwood, Chaplain Cathy Tisher, Good Shepherd Hospice, and Tribute Memorial Care for the excellent services they provided for their mom.
Services are under the direction of Tribute Memorial Care at 708 24th Ave NW in Norman, OK. There will be a visitation at First Baptist Church of Moore on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm. The celebration of life for Betty Jo will be at First Baptist Church of Moore on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm. There will be a private interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
