Anita Deloris Duncan

Anita Deloris Duncan passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on November 22, 1943, in Wynnewood, OK to Pete and Julia Pierce. Soon after they moved to Martha, OK, where she grew up and graduated from High School. It was there at the First Baptist Church that she met the love of her life, Jack Harold Duncan. They were married in the church on October 6, 1962, and spent over 62 years in love together.

They began their life together in Altus, OK where they welcomed their first son, David Keith, in 1964, and a second son, Derrek Lynn, a year later. Jack’s work with Southwestern Bell took them to several towns across Oklahoma until they finally moved to Norman where they made their home. Although Anita excelled in school, she chose to forego a scholarship to Altus Junior College in order to support Jack and raise their two sons. She loved her husband and sons with a depth and humility that can only come from Christ, but it was to her grandchildren that she gave her heart. She was gifted with five granddaughters, and finally one grandson, and they were all the world to her. She never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them, and they were all blessed beyond measure to have her in their lives.

Anita also loved the Lord with all her heart and spent countless hours volunteering at Bethel Baptist Church in the children’s area and at Falls Creek. She was faithful in attendance until health prevented her from getting out but continued to read her Bible daily. Without a doubt, she is singing praises today awaiting our reunion in Heaven.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother and father, by her brothers Allen Pierce and Steven Pierce, and by her sisters Pam Stephens and Cloyie Faye Pierce. She is survived by her husband, Jack, of the home, her son David Duncan and his wife Marla, of Norman, her son Derrek Duncan and his wife Cher, of Norman, her granddaughter Taylor Duncan and her fiancé Kolby Strange, of Little Axe, her granddaughter Hailey Allen and husband Brody, of McKinney, TX, granddaughters Kathryn and Elizabeth Duncan, of Norman, granddaughter Cadyn Duncan, of Norman, grandson Trace Duncan, of Norman, sister Eva Jackson and husband Jerry, of Mustang, sister-in-law Carolyn Duff, of Altus, sister-in-law Michelle Pierce, of Norman, brother-in-law Jerry Don Duncan and wife Carole, of Altus, and many other extended family members whom she loved dearly.
