Tommie Maxey

Tommie Lavelle Maxey was born October 7, 1930, to Thomas Jefferson Griffin and Winnie Juanita (Colbert) Griffin in Troy, Oklahoma. She passed away on December 11, 2021.
Tommie retired from the Military Department after 20 years. She traveled all around the country and the world. Tommie was a huge fan and loved watching OU Sports. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, including her beloved dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Stanley Maxey.
Tommie is survived by her son, Phil Maxey of Dallas, TX; daughter, Gaylynn Smith of Norman, OK; brother, James F. Griffin of Tuscon, AZ; three sisters, Nadine Hallmark of Millcreek, OK, Anita Meyer of Oklahoma City, OK, and Iris “Jackie” Walls of Castlerock, CO; six grandchildren, Jesse Smith and wife Jessica of Norman, OK, Denee “Doc” Jackson and husband Chris of Dallas, TX, Frank Smith of Mustang, OK, Brian Campbell of TX, Jim Campbell and Shandon; four great-granddaughters, Sawyer Smith, Kynlee Smith, Maleah Mitchell and Guilianna Smith; great-grandson, Dakota Ranallo and wife Shelby of Weatherford, TX; great-great-granddaughter, Everly Ranallo of Weatherford, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews who she adored.
