Robert A. "Bob" Mize

Robert A. “Bob” Mize was born January 17, 1931 in Earlsboro Junction, OK to A. A. Arthur Arnold “Buck” Mize and Johanna Louise (Myer) Mize. Bob passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Norman, OK.

Bob met the love of his life, Mallie Jean Bruce, and they were married in Tulsa on September 26, 1974. They loved to travel in their motor home and “Wintering in Texas.” Bob and Mallie were known for being “Winter Texans.” It was not uncommon to find Bob shooting pool with his Winter Texas Friends. Some of the favorite sightseeing locations of Bob and Mallie were the West Coast, Rain Forests and Canada. Bob always enjoyed eating a plate of Mexican food and playing cards with Mallie and friends. Yardwork, including mowing the grass were important to Bob as he liked for things to be neat and tidy. He worked as a Supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base for 36 years. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Bob and Mallie have been in Norman since 1995 and have faithfully been members and served Bethel Baptist Church of Norman.

He was preceded in death by: his father A. A. “Buck” Mize; mother Johanna “Jo” (Myer) Mize; daughter Kathy Lynn Reeder and husband Gil Reeder; sister Dorothy McDonald Orahood; and brother Ed Mize.

Bob is survived by: his wife Mallie Mize; daughter Jann Weaver and husband Terry Weaver; Grandchildren Heather Larson, Rachel Larson, and Glen Reeder; Great-Grandchildren Gabryella Wilson, Savannah Caldarone, and Christopher Caldarone; three nieces and one nephew; as well as numerous friends.
