“Dick” was born August 23, 1942 in Odessa, TX. He lived his early years in Ponca City, OK before moving to Casper, WY where he graduated high school. Shortly after graduating, Dick met one Sandra June Turner. They fell in love and were married January 11, 1964. Sandra was his rock, as he was hers, and they were inseparable.
In 1962, Dick enlisted in the Navy as an Aviation Electrician. During his 8 years of service, he made two tours to Viet Nam aboard aircraft carriers. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, the Viet Nam Service Medal/ 3 Bronze Stars, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal/Korea, just to name a few. After his service, Dick worked as a residential electrician and an oilfield electrician. More importantly, he worked as a husband, father, and friend.
Dick enjoyed being with family and friends, photography, history, westerns, music, and work. Anything and anytime someone needed something, he would give.
Loving, thoughtful, smart, generous, and funny, he will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
