Nola June Porter

Nola June Porter was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Tom and Cleo Gardner on June 29, 1939. She departed this earth on October 14, 2017.

June graduated from Kiowa High School, where she lettered in basketball and was the class valedictorian. She attended Oklahoma City University, where she met the love of her life, John Porter, who she later married.

June was the family rock, always encouraging and supporting. She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir.

June leaves behind: husband, John of 58 years; son, Tommy Jay and wife, Sheri of Enid, OK; daughter, Sherri Dawn and husband, John of Norman; and grandchildren Brittainy, Brandon, Danny, Spencer, and Allie.

A celebration of June’s life will be held on October 21st at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Edmond (2600 E. Danforth Rd).
