Lam Thi Bowden (Née Nguyen)

Lam Thi Bowden (née Nguyen), 72, of Oklahoma City, OK went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2016 with her loving family at her side. Lam was born on April 10, 1943 in Saigon, Vietnam to Lieu Van Nguyen and Tot Thi Ngo.

Lam grew up in Vietnam and worked as a nurse before meeting the love of her life, John Bowden. After John completed his service in Vietnam, he brought Lam to the states and they were married December 26, 1972 in Miami, OK. Together they raised four children: Jimmy, Carol, Kim and Sonny. Lam worked as a cosmetologist for years while touching the lives of many people.

Lam loved her life and family. She was an excellent cook, particularly of Vietnamese cuisine. She enjoyed traveling to Vietnam to visit family. She was a devout Catholic and took great pleasure in reading the Bible. Lam had many talents such as singing, gardening, reading, sewing and decorating her home.

Survivors include her husband, John Bowden of the home; children: son, Jimmy Nguyen Bowden of Houston, TX, daughter, Carol Tedford and husband Chris of Fort Collins, CO, daughter, Kim Underwood and husband Rob of Moore, OK, and son, Sonny Bowden and wife Shannon of Enid, OK; one brother, Kiem Rang Nguyen of Saigon, Vietnam; one sister, Lanh Nguyen of Saigon, Vietnam; and five grandchildren, Blake, Carson, Lauren, Daniel and Jacob; as well as a host of other family and friends. Lam was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lai Nguyen and surrogate mother, Helen C. Lloyd. Lam was the heart of the Bowden family and will be forever loved and missed.
