Jonathan Heath Williams

January 26, 1968 — August 6, 2021

Jonathan Heath Williams, 53, passed away Friday, August 6th, 2021, in Norman, OK. Jonathan was born January 26, 1968, in Washington DC to Asa Hardee and Alice Faye (Carter) Williams.
Jonathan made newspaper headlines when he was five because of his open-heart surgery which was rare at that time. After graduating from Emmanuel Christian School, Jonathan earned an engineering degree from George Mason University. He then began a Civil Service career with FAA in Oklahoma City in early 1990’s as a software engineer.
Jonathan always put his family first. He was an amazing husband, caring son, and a doting father and grandfather. Jonathan admired nature, loved to travel around the USA and Europe. Jonathan had a huge heart for his pets, as well as for wildlife. He would go to any extent to help an injured animal, or to keep his pets happy and healthy. His four dogs, two cats and two turtles will miss him dearly.
Jonathan was extremely creative and inquisitive, always looking for the ways to improve operations at work and at home. His passion was computer systems. He enjoyed his job as a software engineer, as it offered challenges, and he loved to accept and conquer them. He could do anything with his hands at home: from staining furniture, cutting crown molding, laying tile, working with sheetrock, to mounting solar panel systems and wiring of the whole house. Jonathan strived to make everything perfect, and his research would never stop. Being sick or tired would not slow him down. He would always get up and keep going for his family and his job. His sense of duty and love for his family had no end or limits.
A great part of his personality was his absolute love for his country. He was a true patriot, fearless and outspoken. He was a warrior who believed that the USA was the greatest country under God and had a great potential to stay the best. His hobby was collecting guns, although he was not a hunter, but a protector of his family.
Jonathan will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his bright personality, and an extremely strong character. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Faye Williams; grandparents, Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Carter. Jonathan was survived by his father, Asa Hardee Williams, of Woodbridge, VA; his wife, Svitlana Williams; daughter, Shay Williams both of Norman; two sons, Jon Williams of Norman, and Mikail Askeriiani of Yukon, OK; his grandchild, Rowan Williams of Norman, OK; brother, Timothy Carter of Woodbridge, VA.
