John Milner Williams

On June 19, 2019, John slipped the surly bonds of earth, put out his hand and touched the face of God.

John was born in Oklahoma City on September 30, 1948, to Carl H. and Frankie (Milner) Williams. John loved to listen to and make music. He was half of a duo called Country Silk. A few of the places they sang at were the Oklahoma Opry, the State Fair, and the Louisiana Hayride. They recorded several songs in Nashville. John also recorded several songs on his own.

On February 15, 1990, John married Sheryl Layton and acquired a whole bunch of nieces and nephews.

John is survived by his wife Sheryl; mother Frankie; brothers Gilbert and Rick; and Rick’s sons Wes and Derrik.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl and great-niece Kayla.
