John Andrew Jackson

John Andrew Jackson, better known as "Professor John," ascended to the Heavens above on December 6, 2020 at the age of 41. He is survived by his mother Cathy Jackson in OKC, OK, and his father Hollis Jackson Sr. in New Orleans, LA; siblings Hollis Jr (and Amanda) in Aurora, CO, Isaac and Derrick Jackson in OKC, OK, along with many relatives and loved ones.
John was born July 14, 1979 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Del City High school. John continued his education and graduated from Rose State College with an associates degree and a bachelor’s degree from University of Oklahoma.
As an Alumni from OU, John had a special friendship with his instructors, colleagues, as well as the overall OU school environment. He was well known for gracing people with a loving smile. His charisma had the ability to warm anyone around him because he spoke with a calming tone.
He would always reach out to family/friends to let them know of options to continue their education and provide any information they may need. John would go the extra mile by hosting private tours, inspiring people to further their educational desires and goals of attending OU.
John’s memorial service is scheduled for 2pm on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Emmaus Baptist Church. There will be a reception immediately following the service. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate with us. For those who are unable to attend, a live stream will be provided. We’ve also started a fundraiser dedicated to help celebrate the life of Professor John. We sincerely appreciate any donations given and thank you in advance for any and all contributions.
