Joe “Stubb” Stubblefield, 70, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019. Joe was born on November 12,1948 to Thomas Edwin & Ellen Louise (McCulley) Stubblefield. He married Terri Deanne Shope on December 28, 1984 in Norman, where the couple made their home. Joe served in the Army Reserves and National Guard and he received double Bachelor of Science degrees from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He worked as a chemist for Ana Lab for ten years. He enjoyed all OU sports, golfing, fishing, and walking on his hands!
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Edwin & Ellen Louise Stubblefield, his daughter Leslie Renee Stubblefield, and his cousins George & Mary Russell. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Terri; his brother and wife Tom & Paula Stubblefield; his granddaughter Abigail Erin Stubblefield; his brother-in-law Bill Shope & wife Debbie; his sister-in-law Sharlet Spencer & husband Bill; his sister-in-law Joni Mustain and husband John; his cousin Jane Rogers and husband Randy; his cousin Blue Russell and wife Jennifer; many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and many wonderful friends!
The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Edge, Dr. David Williams, and their staff for taking such good care of them over the years.
Memorial arrangements are still pending. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in Joe’s honor to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary, Hands Helping Paws, the American Diabetes Association, or the American Stroke Association.
