"Jody" Howard Mccall

February 20, 1936 — October 24, 2018

Joy Ann “Jody” McCall passed from this earth on October 24, 2018, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Jody, the only child born to Chalmos and Pauline (Ward) Howard, entered this world on February 20th, 1936, in Rogers, Arkansas. At a young age, she moved with her parents to Tulsa. She graduated from Will Rogers High School where she was active on many social committees and made many life-long friends.
Upon graduating high school, Jody moved to Norman to attend OU. It was there that she met her husband, Thomas Knighten McCall of Norman. They married on June 29, 1956. They had a son, Steve in 1957, and soon after moved to Los Angeles, CA, where Tom pursued a career in film editing, and Jody modeled couture fashion for high end stores and photographers.
After a few years in California, they decided to return to Norman where they soon had their daughter, Laura in 1961. Jody became a stay at home mother and community volunteer while also helping her husband in his family’s clothing stores, McCall’s Men Store, and Garner’s Men’s Shop. Jody was active and enjoyed many things including PEO, Assistance League, PTA, Tennis, Bridge, and Mahjong. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.
Jody was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Tom; son-in-law Rick Guererri; daughter-in-law Elizabeth McCall. She is survived by: son Steve of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Laura Hudgens and husband, David of Norman; grandchildren Lauren of Shreveport; Caroline Trommels, and husband Stephen, of Norman; Paige Kolakowski, and husband Austin, of Oklahoma City; and one great-grandchild Olivia Kate Trommels, of Norman.
Jody’s family would like to thank Dr. Tom Merrill, Arbor House Reminisce and Good Shepherd Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be sent to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary of Norman (secondchancenorman.org), or the National Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
