Jane Carol Close

Jane Carol Close, 88, of Norman passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022. She was born August 19, 1933, in Oklahoma City, OK to Howard Wickham and Juanita (Snell) Wickham.

Jane married George Close and together they had three sons. Jane loved to cook, travel, her lake life, and entertain guests. She was a real Christian woman and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Norman. Jane was also a longtime member of the Assistance League of Norman as well as P.E.O. Jane also loved her sorority family, the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega.

She was preceded in death by her Husband George; her parents; her son, Matthew Manning Close; and her sister Mary Helen Climer. She is survived by her sons, Craig Close and wife Kathleen, and Todd Close; her grandchildren, Jason Close and wife Christina, and Joshua Close and wife Megan; her greatgrandchildren, Kobe Close and Hayden Close, and her friend that was like a sister Janie Dilks.

A private family service will be held for Jane and her family. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Norman.
