J. Susan (Penuel) Lewellen

J. Susan Lewellen, 67, of Mustang, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was born December 19, 1953 to Walton and Norma Penuel.
Susan was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but grew up in many different parts of the world including Venezuela and America Samoa. Her family settled in Seminole, Oklahoma where she attended Pleasant Grove High School. Susan attended Southern Nazarene University where she received her bachelor’s degree and teaching certification in American Literature, English Literature, Grammar and Composition, and World Literature. Following her education, Susan became an AP English teacher at Mustang High School and Redlands Community College for over 19 years. Susan was a devout Christian and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walton and Norma Penuel, husband; Thomas Lewellen and granddaughter; Emersyn Waddle.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Amanda Walker, Leslie and husband Billy Suttles, Leah and husband Dylan Waddle. Grandchildren: Lue and Jordyn Fillmore, Laci and Gabe Shelton, Levi Fillmore, Matthew Lewellen, Tristen Ledbetter, Micah Ledbetter, Seth Ledbetter, Jadyn Waddle, Graysen Waddle, and Pierce Waddle. Great grandchildren: Devyn Ledbetter, and Rilynn Shelton. Her siblings: LuAnn Langwell and Kenny Penuel.
