Heather Burdge

Heather Nicole (Dodson) Burdge passed away on Christmas Day at the age of 28. She was born in Norman, OK on September 20, 1988 to Marvin and Sherrie (Cottrell) Dodson. She married the love of her life, Benjamin Burdge, on April 12, 2008 in Blanchard, OK, where they made their home with their children.

Heather was an all-around good person. She was humble and kind, and she would do anything for her family. Every morning she would call her mother in California and talk to her while she was having coffee, and she would constantly call her family with details of her children’s day. Her children always came first. She would frequently pray with her children and she would read a book to them every night. One of their favorite activities together was taking a golf cart on a picnic.

Heather loved music and reading; Christian romance novels were her guilty pleasure. She taught music at the Christian school and she also taught Sunday School at her church.

Heather was preceded in death by her grandmother, Veda Dodson. She is survived by: husband Ben Burdge of Blanchard and their children Logan, Weston, and Brooke; brother Rusty Dodson of Blanchard and his children Raiden, Maddex, and Breauna; parents Marvin and Sherrie Dodson of Hanford, CA; father- and mother-in-law Dale and Brenda Burdge of Oklahoma City; grandparents Raymond and Kathrin Cottrell of Blanchard; grandfather Joe Dodson of Blanchard; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
