Donald "Don" Allen Peacock

June 29, 1979 — August 16, 2016

A sensitive dreamer, Donald “Don” Allen Peacock, 37, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016. He lived with his brother, Danny Peacock, and his beloved Wobbie, Russell K. Don was born in Moore, Oklahoma to Donald O. Peacock and Judy A. Peacock. He attended Norman Public Schools in the second ever class of Norman North Timberwolves. He went on to school to become an electrical sound technician and he was very good at it. He used his skills as a rigger and roadie, setting up sound and light equipment at concerts.

Music was more than a career to Don. From a very young age he was passionately rocking out with his heart out. He could play pretty much any song on his guitar after hearing it only once, and he would practice so much that his fingers bled. He would communicate difficult emotions by speaking lyrics or playing you a song. He taught guitar to anyone that wanted to learn, passing his passion on to others. Don was able to live part of the life he most wanted, travelling all over the country, always climbing up high to set up the lights for the rock concerts he loved.
Don was fascinated by motorcycles all his life. At the age of two he burned his arm sticking it into a motorcycle gas tank “to see what made it vroom”. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Don rode every chance he got. Don was a Harley Davidson man all the way, and he started riding long before he was old enough to get his license. Before his passing he was able to mark riding his motorcycle up the coast of California off his bucket list.

Don loved his family and no matter where he was he surrounded himself with their pictures and memories. Don never forgot to call his mother, Judy Peacock, or to make her something for her birthday or Mother’s Day.

After spending some time away from all those he loved Don was able to clean himself up and began to earn back the trust of his family. The one steady bright spot in his life was his only child and namesake, Natalie Allen. He wanted to be a great dad for her, to prove his love, and be close, “you know, like call each other and talk about her problems.” Don is also survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 17 years, Silvia Diek.

The bond of brothers, forever through thick or thin, was more than a saying for Don. He and his triplet brothers James A. Peacock and Daniel Peacock were stitched together at the heart. Like your favorite leather riding boots, they were “scuffed-up, but tough.”

For his sister, Mary R. Peacock, Don Allen was a safe place to cry and be upset. He would just put his arm over her shoulders and let her cry, with no judgment and no hurry for her to stop.

Don was first brought to his love of rock music and blazing pyrotechnics at a KISS concert that he was taken to by his big sister, Charlene Peacock-Becker.

Don will be missed by a hoard of nieces and nephews; Savannah Workman, Julia Hayes, Heather Hayes, Luke Morris-Peacock, Garret Ray, and Nate Morris-Peacock.

Don Allen is also survived by numerous cousins; Crystal, Christy, Molly, Summer, Allen, and Beau, as well as many other family members and friends.

As Don goes from us he joins his father, Donald Peacock, his beloved niece, Morgan Peacock, all four of his grandparents, “Snap” and Mary Peacock and Pascal and Mary Bobbitt, as well as his first cousin Patrick.
