Dennis Patrick Simpson

May 31, 1942 — May 2, 2020

Dennis Patrick Simpson, a 35 year resident of Norman, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020 at the age of 77.

He was born in Deer Lodge, Montana on May 31, 1942 to Gerald and Mary (Voehl) Simpson of Boston, Massachusetts. He proudly served his country on The USS Canberra with the United States Navy from August 1960 to November 1964 and was a member of The USS Canberra Reunion Association.

Dennis was retired for over 20 years. Prior to his retirement he was a Technical Instructor for the USPS .

Dennis served as a member of First Christian Church in Norman and was a part of the Christian Men’s fellowship and longtime property committee team member. He loved traveling to all parts of the world and especially enjoyed cruises. He loved being by and on the Ocean. Dennis also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 10 years, Jane Simpson of Norman, OK.

Dennis was survived by his sons: Michael Dennis Simpson of University City, MO; Daryl Randall Simpson and wife Jennifer of Chesterfield, MO and Daughter: Cynthia Diane Simpson of Paris, MO; his partner: Connie Wilson of Norman; Stepson: Mike Pierson and wife Myra of Tuttle, OK. Stepdaughters: Leesa Lewis and husband Dee of Blanchard, OK; Londa Lamey and husband David of Blanchard, OK; Laura Williams and husband Chuck of Tucson, AZ.

Grandchildren: Michael Ray Simpson, Alexander Simpson, Henry Montgomery, Maxwell Montgomery, Cullen Simpson; Step Grandchildren: Chris Pearson, Isaac Lewis, Jeremy Lewis, Dusty Lamey, Matt Lamey, Brant Freeman, Candace Pierson, Ramona Pierson, Kelsey Pierson, Natalie Langford, Amy Jo Williams and 15 Great Grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Dennis will be held at a later date, both in Norman, OK and in Paris, MO.
