Audrey Elisabeth Dragg

May 25, 1924 — June 25, 2021

Audrey Elisabeth Dragg, our precious Mom, Nana, Super Nana and Aunt, passed away peacefully and in her own home on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the age of 97.

Audrey was born on May 25, 1924, in Dorchester, Massachusetts to Etta Flora Bevan (Torrey) and James Raymond Bevan. She spent many childhood summers at the family home in Deer Isle, Maine. In 1945 she moved to Houston, then Oklahoma where she raised her two sons, worked and volunteered.

A history teacher and guidance counselor, Audrey was everything from an attendance secretary at Harding High School to an Oklahoma History teacher on OETA channel 13! She worked for the Oklahoma City Public Schools until her retirement in 1983.

Never one to be idle, Audrey then volunteered for the Deaconess Hospital auxiliary, particularly enjoying her time in the gift shop there. At Mayflower Congregational church in Oklahoma City, she sang in the choir, organized countless ladies’ luncheons and was an active member of the women’s circle. Oklahoma Close Up, an educational program designed to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity with our State government, was particularly near and dear to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jodie Darling.

Survivors include sons Donald Dragg (Kim) and Kenneth Dragg (Diane), of Norman, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Ryan Dragg, Chris Dragg (Candace), Morgan Dragg, of Norman, Oklahoma, Jennifer Kubinsky (David) of Flower Mound, Texas, and Matthew (Taylor) Dragg, of Goldsboro, North Carolina; ten great grandchildren: Cece Dragg, Ellabeth Dragg, Joseph Dragg, Greyson Dragg, Joscelyn Harper, Eli Kubinsky, Liam Kubinsky, Lyla Kubinsky, Dean Dragg and Meredith Dragg, and a niece Debbie Hagen (Bill) of Temecula, California.

Services will be scheduled at a later time.
